Would It Be Okay to Synthesize Human Genome Chemically?
Harvard scientists along with other scientists, lawyers, and business leaders held a closed-door conference to discuss the creation of a full human genome from synthetic materials. While such work could be advantageous in developing treatments, experts in the field raised concerns that it could lead to catastrophe, such as in biological warfare.
