Five Rupee Labour Paid for Shoes worth Seven Thousand
Shoes manufactured in India are sold for as much as €100 in markets like the UK but people who are an integral part of the manufacturing process do not even see a fraction of this. These women from Tamil Nadu, work from home to stitch these shoes but are paid Rs.5 a pair, and have no job security, no benefits, and have serious health issues.
