Rainwater Harvesting Defies Drought in Rajasthan Village
Laporiya, near Jaipur, has ground water at 15-40 feet, and enough water for its population of nearly 2,000, even during summer. They also supply water to surrounding villages. Their chauka system of rainwater harvesting as well as smart crop planning where they keep away from water-sensitive crops have yielded further results in cattle-breeding.
