FBI Enrolling Community Leaders to Tackle Terrorism
As part of a strategy to prevent terrorism, FBI is enlisting religious leaders, social workers, and community leaders, who would keep an eye out for potential radicals. Civil-liberties groups and Muslim leaders fear that this would lead to SRCs becoming government informants, and private conversations becoming part of criminal investigations.
