Honor Killing: Parents Not Allowed to Attend Last Rites
Parents, who confessed to killing their teenaged daughter Priya Reddy for not ending her relationship with a boy from a lower caste, were not permitted by the Karnataka police to attend her funeral. Meanwhile, women’s organization in Karnataka has stated that the government must initiate immediate measures to prevent honor killings in the state.
