Robots Takeover Jobs in Chinese Manufacturing Hub
Apple supplier Foxconn, also a manufacturer of products for Sony, Microsoft, and other giants, laid off 60,000 employees, reducing the workforce from 110,000 to 50,000 due to the introduction of robots. Other companies in Kunshan are also pushing for automation. This comes as a downer for Kunshan, where two-thirds of workforce are migrant workers.
