Transgender Activist Shot and Then Denied Treatment, Dies
A Pakistani transgender activist, shot 6 times by a gang and rushed to the hospital by her community, succumbed to her injuries after the doctors could not decide whether to admit her to the men's or women's ward. Violent attacks on transgender people is common in Pakistan, and Alesha was long campaigning for greater protection to transgenders.
