Patent Granted to Potential Cure for Type1 Diabetes
A US patent has been approved for type I diabetes cure. Developed by scientists from the University of Technology Sydney, the cure involves combining cells that deliver insulin with a technology that allows them to hide from the immune system. Called ‘Melligen cells,’ they can produce, store, and release insulin according to blood sugar levels.
