Thailand Eliminates Mother-to-child Transmission of HIV
Thailand is the first Asian country to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis. Elimination of transmission is defined as a reduction of transmission to such a low level that it no longer constitutes a public health problem. Cuba became the first country to reach the goal last year.
